Midlife. If we're lucky. Or not?
Dumb Love On, in, the vagabond air, a how could this have happened? It permeates our dinner and dreams. All night the moon howls its dumb love. The chores insist, we are more important than life crises. We don't argue. We magnify their irritation for distraction. We know our Anne Sexton. Neither of us has broad shoulders. We have clean dishes, clean secrets, profiles like question marks, as always, but smaller, larger. Copyright Julie K. Shavin 2009
