looking through old photographs
I never thought it would be this way
he always had a smile
it never seemed to stray
looking at him now though
that spunk for life is gone

it's like...
he's waiting for death
to come now and take him home
everyone scrambles now for they fear this is his last
they want to be on good terms despite anything that's past

but I can't bear to see him
the happy memories must remain
the touch of death is gonna be
a cruel thing, it'll bring pain
but when it does come for him
I won't cry in vain
for he will find his place among the stars
where he'll wait with open arms...
