Body floats to level surface
To late for mouth-to-mouth
Identified at city morgue
Tears ebbing like the tide.
Mob picks up fingered paper
Use to line stoolie’s cage
Send out new boondoggler
Goes on hunting spree.
Boondoggler one cross hair sights
Moves at last instant nicked
Jumps the train to nowhere
End of story . . .
