'Widow back home, not safe'

Poem Artwork

Put in the hearse

Got in the limousine

Toured graveyard site

Fresh soil - pine boxed.

Black roses thrown

Coffin nailed tight

Back in the limousine

Would soon scream.

Widow back home, not safe

Doors securely locked

12 gauge ready – double buck.

Knocking heard, dead returned.

Heads to bath - wash blood off

Image appears at shower door

“Coming-in dear, ready or not!”

Shotgun blast through the glass.

Shards in place on deceased’s  body

Get to bury all over again

Insurance claim – double bucks

Fresh soil – iron casket.

Leaving the cemetery scene

Corpse appears in rearview

She slams on the brakes

Puts her Checker in reverse.

Plows him right back into grave

For added protection – Molotov;

.45 calibers him in the head

No movement, must now be safe.

Back home sleeping in bed

Silhouette at bedroom window

“Baby, it’s cold outside!”

Here we go again . . .

You go wild man. Love the last two lines. Heck, love the entire poem but the last two lines are killer. No pun intended. *smile*

Lance,
Oh my gosh, this one is scary! Not sure I'll sleep tonight...You are such a talented poet because you can write about everything! Horror is one of your best! I'm one of the few who DO believe in ghosts. I've heard tales all my life, there must be something to it.

Huggs an Love,
~Linda
