Yesterday I walked among strangers
And no one uttered a word.
Yesterday I walked among strangers
Each seemingly in a world of his own.
Yesterday I walked among strangers
And no one noticed me
As each rattled on, lost somewhere,
A stranger of his own being on a crowded street.
Yesterday, I smiled at strangers
And no one smiled back
Faces taut, cold and expressionless
Filled with fear of what lies unknown.
Yesterday I walked the city streets
Bustling and alive with people
Each with a set mind; a set agenda
Each with some pressing deadline to meet.
Yesterday I walked alone with strangers
People of every nation
In a bustling, crowded, and jam-packed city
A city of such fame, fortune and renown.
Today I took a walk alone
Along a lonely, empty street
And I felt peace with myself today.
I smiled along with the silence and the empty street.

Good Work. This is really an eye opener. Until we realise how much loneliness we bring about by keeping our owm busy schedules, we won't realise how much we need each other.

I'd have smiled, should you have passed me by. But I can so relate to this poem. It is amazing how alone a person can feel when around so many people... And how less alone they feel, when they are by themselves.
Just as life during the pandemic was color-coded with different hues representing different levels of danger, life in its aftermath has become shaded in similar ways. As a self-styled “Seeker of Beauty with Beauty,” (borrowing from a quote by W.E.B.
