Some lines regarding a past relationship with all the ups and downs

Lost Ship

 Made sense back then

We had poetry

I was carrying child

You carried remorse

I carried ammunition

You feared no threat

In it to win it

In it to loose it

Couldn’t tell the difference

Shit you left

I was still present

Defending lies

Just to ease the throbbing a little

Persistent you

Never walked away for too long

Gathered thoughts and came back with vengeance

Became somethin like a man

With little boy tendencies

Shifted through my thoughts

Found built up aggression

Just a tad bit of resentment

Told you she had her own best interest

Told you leave me the f*** alone

Persistent you

Climbing the ladder to no where in particular

Determined to find a destination

I found mine sorry

A place with faces not identical to yours

Yeah you’re right

Shit was good

Damn near ideal to the core

Worth writing an album about

Young minds directed us blindly

So were they right

Or were you wrong

I plead the fifth

I’ll take my own side on this one

You want chance number three

Good shit comes in threes

I want to turn this 180 degrees

I have to look at this from an unusual view

Persistent you

Soundin something like convincing

All the shit I talked

Hope no one listened

A question with no answer

You claim you have it

I say prove it

The same old tale...voiced in the words of youth. Many women have traveled that path and you have summed it up beautiful and articulately!
Same old #$!....different year! LOL

You have gone through a lot of things in your life and you have become a better person for seeing things for what they truly are.Your poetry is a reflection of it.You have become a smart, intelligent and may I say beautiful woman who has a lot to offer in this world. This is an excellent poem, take care of yourself

Writing is for these emotions put to paper...Precisely! You have done it for yourself and many others who have lived and/or living this same path... Get out... it's tough at first....but I'll tell you it will be so wonderful once the new journey begins without this baggage!!!!!!! You have me hooked... keep writing... this is good. lindalaw

Sounds like you had a lot of baggage to unload. I identify with this so much. Did you know my ex-husband? Could swear you were talking about him.
