My closing

Started With a Vision

12/27/08

It started with a vision that transcended to the pen to the black and white notebook that held my state within

Used as self therapy, my problems sought a remedy, addictive drugs couldn't steady, my muse it lead me

Through the years of constant growing

Junior high I got my toes wet in the song writing concept

High school I met the inner poet, lurking in the alley ways of hesitation

Ignorant of my capabilities to turn words into life stories, teachers said she’s gifted I proclaimed this is just the beginning

College entered, I hit rock bottom, lost my f***in mind, lost myself as well, walking partially blind, than I met up with spoken word a sacred relationship was formed

Now my secrets turned into lyrics, bars and poses has transformed into my first book

a book I call my baby girl, at 20 I became an author

Proud to know my potential now I’m silently yearning for more, the melodies in my head keep begging for a chance, a chance to dance with the pad and pen a chance to make a name

A chance to feed the starving music heads who've been deprived of real art

So I rest on the floor of my haven and escape to an unknown land where my creativity has full control and my hand just listens

I'll forever stay faithful to the poet I've been labeled, I'll continue to promote and nurture my baby volume one and the next many to come but now I’m having dreams, day, afternoon and night, of me connecting with crowds of hundreds who are dressed up fly just to see me work the mic, nodding heads of respect and understanding, feet side steppin to my flyest beats, repeating the hooks I conformed to grab attention, signing napkins for the ones who support it

It’s my time to be the musical lyrical composer I was told I was destined to be..

But poetry you'll always be first my love

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
