Sad but true!!!

Fine line on spanking and then abuse. Never felt the right pat at the right time hurt as for sure today this "TIME OUT" deal doesn't seem to be working.
I like this as it does spark a little conversation about the pros and cons of spanking

With most this is like a toss of the coin still! I do not think a spanking persay is the enemy of destroying a child's id, it is the adult reason(s) and portrayal(s) behind, the purpose, the intent that children understand and or misconstrue at times that does their id's in! Right On!

Sorry, I don't agree... I was 'spanked' with a two-by-four and a chopping block, and the only thing it 'taught' me was that when somebody pisses you off, you hit them. (They couldn't figure out why I started hitting my sister.) If anything, my behavior got worse the more I was hit because I realized that no matter what I did, there would be some excuse to hit me. (Break a dish-- get hit. Get a "D" on a report card-- get hit.) My self-discipline certainly did not come from being hit-- it was delayed several years by the fear I lived under.

i was spanked as a child, but it didn't wreck ME and make me a juvie! i LEARNED from my mistakes, and I KNEW right from wrong!

Let's bring discipline back into the homes and schools where it belongs!!
