I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Did you ever want to be a cop, drive a car with lights on top, Wear a badge, wear a gun and be a help to everyone. Well me I got to do it all and didn’t even miss my call, for everywhere that I was sent, I took the truth I represent. Jesus Christ, Gods only Son, who shed His blood for everyone, drunks and druggies, killers too, liars, thieves, those in blue. Teachers, preachers, businessmen, Kings and Queens for all have sinned. Then one day the Chief told me, if this is where you want to be. Keep your God away from here, for I’m the one that you should fear. I told the Chief I can’t obey, cause Jesus is the only way. The only way to peace within, the only way to conquer sin, the only way to save a soul, the only way that I’ll patrol. Now he knew just where I stood, and what he asked I never could. I’d just seen too much fruitfulness, to ever try and second guess, the restoration or the fame, that I have known in Jesus name. Then it came as no surprise, I was told to compromise. Separate your church and state or get prepared to terminate. Well I refused to change my mind and told the Chief that I resign, Easter Sunday ninety-five, Jesus Christ is still alive!! ©1998 William Heffner P.O. Box 677 Coldwater, Michigan 49036 I was out of work for over a year after my resignation. I applied with other police departments with my uncompromising Christian services too, I just couldn't get away from my past atheistic administration. But I remained faithful. Then finally a door opened in 1996 with the Department of Corrections, so I took my uncompromising Christian services to prison. In 2001 I returned to police work on a part-time basis with a small city in SW Michigan. The Chief was an Ordained Minister and had no problem with a Christian police officer. In 2002 I was chosen to be a part of the Olympic Police Force during the winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. I was also selected as the Officer of the Year for the Correctional Facility where I was employed in 2002. In addition to this, I was one of the top 5 finalist for Officer Of The Year for the state of Michigan. To finish off 2002 I added another Part-Time Police job to my resume and was hired by the local Sheriffs department and assigned to the local schools. God Is Good All The Time! I know that in this life we will have problems, but the faithful never lose, their best days are ahead of them, because they are Champions. Keep the faith, you were born to win! *The Champion* I wanted to be a champion, to quench my winning thirst, but I could never get beyond, second place to first. Winning just eluded me, in every single quest, though working hard and practicing, to try and be the best. Then I went above it all. To find out what succeeds and there I found the winning edge, that every champion needs; Faith to get the victory and faith to know within. Good for you, William. My main characters are cops and will soon be Christians as well. I'd imagine it doesn't gel easily. You are blessed as you are persecuted for Him. God Bless, Lisa

God bless you and your words. I salute your faithfulness. If there's one place where the gospel is needed more than anyplace else, it's on the streets, among the druggies and killers. God seems to be the only One who still loves them.
