Treasures of Old

My eyes opened and my heart listened
to what I was told by a warm, bold voice;
then followed His instructions, by choice,
to find treasures… new and old.
I opened the book and delved in deep,
no longer its words to keep:
revealing secrets and mysteries of old,
just as I'd been told by that voice bold.
My eyes opened and my heart listened
to what I was told by that warm, bold voice;
then followed His instructions, by choice,
to write treasures… new and old.
At once, I picked up pen and let it flow;
thinking for me alone these treasures glowed.
But when it was done and truth sound,
He said, "It's for everyone around."
My eyes opened and my heart listened
to what I was told by His warm, bold voice;
then followed His instructions, by choice,
To share treasures… new and old.
At once, I put them in books and sent them out;
His treasures gone and spread about.
Alas, no one seemed to care, did not keep.
My heart broke and for Jesus I weep.
Yet, my eyes opened and my heart listened
To what I was told, by Him to whom I cleave;
accepted God's explanation, purely weaved,
"I never said they would believe."

This poem was inspired by an actual event back in 1985, the year before I moved to Washington. I'd already been into Biblical research and study for a number of years-- eons ago-- and was on fire to share what I already had learned: grabbing anyone who would appear to listen.
Yet, it seemed each time I imparted God's Truths, it was as if the person metaphorically raised their hands to form a cross with their fingers to ward off the devil. THIS LADY IS CRAZY! This, or they would give me arguments that, on the surface, seemed logical enough to send me back to Elohim and question Him yet again.
Finally, one day I was so discouraged by no one seeming to believe what the Spirit had shown me, that I sat down in my den in Texas and wailed to Yeshua, "What am I doing wrong? Did I misunderstand what you've shown me? What did I miss?"
I almost could hear Father chuckle as his head weaved from side to side, when He said, "I never said they would believe." The Bible describes His voice as "many waters and thunders." Believe it! It is a thundering bass, yet incredibly soothing: like the sound of a great waterfall.
Now, I don't know about some people, but for me what Ishi said was like lifting a ten-ton weight off my shoulders. Here all that time I had thought, "Now that God has shown me His Truths, I must get others to see it AND obey it; or they will die!"
I feel certain many, during that time, must have considered hanging garlic around their necks and on their doors. Hear my laughter. It was a relief to understand that it is mine only to tell and God's to determine who will hear to understand and obey. Praise the Lord!
It is an inspiring poem with a collateral power to side and support the one that is walking another mile to bring a stone to build the bridge of understanding that crosses over the river of indifference.
Thank You for sharing grace, hope and Perseverance.
