December's Midnight

wanted to try something different

Both hands point up,
touch midnight together,
see mirrored reflections
of 2003 days end
and 2004 commence.

The year was stately
like a portal vein.
It was grand, imposing,
freedom was gained
in a land far away.

2004 welcomed;
new turns, new twists.
Future works on history,
part of the mystery
tackling the unknown.

Like Janus sees
everything together.
