On terra firma, the Earth’s unyielding ground,
The one who can take my breath away remains elusive,
The soul my soul seeks, but has not yet found.
So, into the misty realms of nocturnal dreams I go,
Amidst sleep’s vaporous clouds, to find my elusive one,
And unite with the one my soul yearns to love and know.
In the hazy billows of precious dreams, we meet,
Encircling each other with a passionate embrace,
While tender lips bestow kisses, silken and sweet.
A blend of tranquility and delirious delight abound,
And with each provocative look and sensual touch,
Velvety whispers of secret enticement resound.
At long last, I feel my very spirit is complete,
An exquisite harmony of mind, heart, body and soul,
But the dream ends, and too soon I must retreat.
But when I return from my dreamt sanctuary of bliss
To the dread loneliness of a cold and earthy reality,
I am aware that, in my dreams, the elusive one does exist.
Once more on terra firma, the Earth’s unyielding ground,
The one who can take my breath away remains elusive,
The soul my soul seeks, but has not yet found.
