It's amazing what one can hear if one is truly quiet.

Poem Artwork

I Listened

I listened to the wind today
He told me of your emerald eyes
I knew that already
I’ve lost myself in them before

I listened to the chickadee today
So close I could almost touch her
She told me of your snow white skin
That if you should fall in snow
No one could find you
I knew that already
I’ve been blinded by your beauty

I listened to the brook today
She told me of your honey hair
I knew that already
I’ve been high on its heavenly scent

I listened to the moon tonight
She did not say anything
She chose instead to write among the stars
She wrote that you are an angelic goddess
She wrote of your persona
And why you’ve come along

Thank you Ms Moon
That’s more than good enough
For me

Odd that I picked this poem to comment on right after commenting on your newest work, Regis. It seems like this piece refers to the same green-eyed, honey-haired beauty! I like the format here because it lends to the soft feel of your words. Creative with a tender ending~

Reg,
Be Careful! You are smitten by the senses!
Get to know the inner woman. will she live up to your musings?
Will she meld with your future dreams and remain true through all of your lives?
This is mesmerizing, but remember to look inside!

Although my initial thoughts were that this was more corny than creative, there was a subtle eloquent touch to this that made it appealing. The fact that you're one of very few writers I've come across so far that seems to have a developed understanding of diction and word placement in itself was impressing to me. The thing I didn't like was that your metaphors were very classic ones, in the sense that it took away from the individuality of the piece... while, the follow up lines that lended the climax to what I concidered overdone or unoriginal, always had a touch of gentle creativity, and originality. In the end I suppose the two balanced eachother out, and that is why I was kind of back and forth on this. Good piece overall, just would have enjoyed alittle more creativity. Thank you for the comments on my works by the way.

And good enough for me is this most beautiful "silent" tribute and reverence for the object of your heart, soul and mind. Your words match her timeless beauty, I am sure. Reverential and awed, the hushed tones add to the quiet admiration that is more penetrating than a lot of perhaps showy affection. You speak words here, but the tenderness of your hands is also implied. Beautiful and sensuous love poetry, Regis. Good enough to eat! :)) LOL Kate xx

Dear Regis ...

It is always good when we recieve wisdom or revelation that allows us to appreciate that which we do not see or percieve. Growing is important, always, for a visionary like yourself.

Your constructs are always a soothing balm to me. A wise and insightful sage you are dear friend that sees what other don't.

I also liked the wind as a He, and the moon as an unmarried woman - mysterious and fulfilling!

In fraternity ...

The potential of human essence, phenomena and power through the sounds of nature, we listen not only with our ears, but the totality of our senses, as in the ancient Hermetic Law of Correspondence, "As above, so below; so below, as above. This principle teaches that all things are connected and have sigificance. We cannot separate the physical from the spiritual, the visible from the invisible. I Listened gives one the means of solving many a dark paradox and the hidden secrets of Nature...enables us to reason intelligently, Regis. Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Spirit...Blessed Be.
