A few summers back, I noticed a pair of oxeye daisies. This summer, they have greatly multiplied and are lovely to behold.

Poem Artwork

Oxeye Maids

 A splash of daisies

A gift from the Creator

And Mother Nature

In behind my home

On the side of the mountain

A bevy of oxeyes

They appeared one day

Seemingly out of nowhere

Now grace the landscape

Such pretty daisies

She loves me she loves me not

Swaying in the breeze

Often overlooked, the Daisy is one of the most widespread flowers on the North American continent. I think the reason for the increase in their number is all the rain the Northwest has been getting.
