LOVE IN SMALL DOSES
Like a man in a parched desert without food and water
Who is hanging on by a thread
Can only intake a little at a time
As to sustenance to be fed.
My heart is yearning for your love for it has crossed a parched desert
When you should have kept it watered; it has withered from neglect
I am starving for your love and affection and in a beggars position I bring roses
Can’t take love full to my heart but slowly in small doses.
Can’t let go of a love so deep
No tears are left for me to weep
In my heart goodbye I speak
But when you are near I grow weak.
Can’t get rid of this feeling inside
As a human being I’ve died
You know how much I need your love.
You control my yearnings by giving me a little bit of.
In aches and pains I toss in agony
Wanting to hold you and you to be near me
I’m being fed as a prescription through hoses
That is little by little, love in small doses.
How will all this end?
I’m weak toward you and can’t defend
Without your love I will die
From deep within goes an outcry.
I curse and pray at the same time
Hoping you’ll open your heart and be mine
Knowing I’m only dreaming of wine and roses
Yearning for just a little bit of your love fed in small doses.
Be always safe,
Karen
