Stand fast child...
my father would say...
when I was young and scared...
of an approaching storm.
And, stand fast I would...my heart strong.
Stand fast young man...
my father would tell me...
when I worried of a nuculear war...
during my grade school days.
And, stand fast I would...my heart strong.
Stand fast, it's ok...
my father would say...
when wondering if I too would be called to war...
as many of my high school friends were to VietNam
And, stand fast I would...my heart strong.
Stand fast son...
I now say to my own child...
as we watch buildings crumble and fall...
and families pleading for a word of their loved ones.
And, stand fast he did...but our hearts breaking.
Now I say to our hearts...
stand fast...stand fast....
as we watch families crying...
and rescue workers risking all for the sound of just one voice.
And, stand fast we will.. as our tears fall and our hearts feel their pain.
Oh please heart..stand fast.
I am placing the the troubles of the world on you.
Stand fast my heart...don't grow so hard that you cannot feel...
as it is your feelings that makes me strong.
And I pray stand fast you will...stand fast you must.
Larry, our hearts will stand fast and our wills will stand united. We will join hands and form a line of strength and power that cannot be broken,,Stand Fast! Beside you we will all stand,,,,Lisa
