You were only 4 year old when my eyes saw you.
Hair long, golden, soft..... pure.
Oh, how proud your parents must be of you.

Images of you running, playing...
smiling, giggling. with that playful joy of a child.
Oh, how your parents must of glowed watching you.

Now, I only see lips once red now blue.
that warm glow now gone from your face.
Your body once warm, now cold.

Imagining, looking down at you...
as we fight to bring life back to you...
how you would say, "mommy, daddy, I love you."

Images of you laughing as you play.
Images of your smile as you walk...
Images of you running, playing.

Now, only the sounds of grief outside.
People once busy around you standing.
Heads lowered, smiles gone.

Looking down, whispering goodbye...
softly brushing your hand as I walk away...
for you have touched us all this day.

Little emotion on my face...
not showing the tears that build...
