DOWN! The market's
crashing, tumbling
DOWN, DOWN, DOWN,
eight hundred
whithering points
JUST TODAY!
And startled brokers,
their faces blanching,
pace the raucous floors
of Wall Street lost
in stunned confusion.
Tell me, please,
could that trick
mirror promising
endless greed like
a snake in Eden be
shattering at last?
Oh, that some splendid
new vision, striking
and true , start fiercely
banishing this
gold fevered gluttony
so ravaging
the future and
murdering the soul.

Like this poem a lot. I actually used to work on the floor about 10 years ago. Know all about greed and pressure and the like. I honestly hope the trick mirror is cracking. An end to the century of self, the disease of more! I feel a fundamental change is happening in the universe. I think we'll have to endure some pain; but sometimes life's greatest gifts come disguised as our worst nightmares.
