Memories of Family at Holiday Time. Parent Passed Away at Holiday Season
Lights are now twinkling throughout the town,
Bell ringers stand their posts for the money we’ll lay down.
The stores are busy with sale signs everywhere,
People packing their carts, seemingly without a care.
A present for Tommy, for Mary and Sue,
There’s one in my heart that I handpicked for you.
Memories of Christmas past flood my very being,
Wishing it were your sweet face that I could be seeing.
Your children and grandchildren were your greatest joy,
It made you so happy watching them open their toys.
A Christmas feast you’d always prepare,
Made with pure love, joy and lots of tender care,
Our family still gathers on this very special day,
Recalling our lives in the old fashion way.
Passing along stories of how it used to be,
But you’re not here now and it seems like an eternity.
Your picture is placed in the middle of the tree,
Hoping you are watching, cause we knew you’d be pleased.
Although you’ve gone to heaven your spirit still remains,
Christmas traditions continue but will never be the same.
So in my heart I’ll cherish all the good times we had before,
Merry Christmas Dear Mother! I love you more and more!

A very moving poem about your mother. My mom died Dec 17, 2002. Her funeral was on Dec 21. We bought point setters and placed gold paper around the bottom of the plant pots. The funeral home was an loaded with red and white flowers as they were her favorite. Mom loved Christmas and her funeral was a celebration of life. We played the Xmas carols she loved so much and felt she was with us. Each year I hang an angel on our tree in memory of her. Moms always seem to have a special place in our hearts... ...Mary grace
This really pulls at my heart as I feel the love you poured into it.
It is such an open wound now, but in time it will begin to heal over until the traditions become times to recall the past with fondness instead of dreading each holiday.
It's almost Christmas. Lynn Basil is writing her last book about a secret entrance into the magical doll land of Sha Bebe that she loves so much. Bagannos have taken over the world! Lynn finally meets her dolls in real life. Can she write in a Secret
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.

Nicely written!
