Evicted

Power surge!
Rainbow flames
sear the air
in every direction.
Outstretched arm
points to the forest.
Retreat!
Guardian of the gate
allows no entry --
go forth, and forage,
the rules have changed.
No more,
the sweet fruit of Eden.

Had to laugh when I read what Jude had written. But, at times, life is all about playing by the rules isn't it?

Power surge is an interesting line. The great cosmic power struggle where one player can change the rules seems like a stacked game. Then again, it all depends on your vantage point. Very nice.

This reminds me of the forest fires we get here every fall in Southern California. Beautiful work.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
