Terror Rides
My heart is frozen within me, as
terror stampedes across the
bridge toward me,
grinning pumpkin atop
darkened silhouette of evil.
My mind rebels, my
voice refusing to yield to
screams that pile against.
Seeking a hiding place,
too late --
madness overtakes, then,
Smiling, I turn to face
the inevitable.
He falters, noticing
sheen of madness in my eyes,
uncertain of what to do
against my absence of fear.
His body now lies hidden, and
a new terror rides.
Now I come for you.
