Sometimes it's great, but often is small,
Sometimes spontaneous, or not there at all,
It's usually loud, and accompanied with cheers,
It's taken with bows, and envied by peers,
It's sometimes on cue, when not quite deserved,
Whilst sounding too canned, forced and coerced,
Whatever is said, the artists’ great cause,
Is the rise of the curtain, and the sound of applause.
Very nice and well written - I really like poems with rhyme and something to say, not just a conundrum of vagaries and prolixity.
