Lilac Burmese full of pride
Right until the day he died
Not just a cat, but also a loyal friend
Right until the very end

From kitten to cat he brought us joy
Sitting on laps, playing with a toy
A special friend, so full of love
He must have come from God above

When we were ill, he’d come to soothe
Rubbing his head, so gentle, so smooth
Lying there, he would calmly purr
While we would stroke his silky fur

Sitting at the door, teeth chattering
Caught sight of a starling passing
I don’t think he ever caught a bird
For Burmese to do would be absurd

Burmese cats are regal beings
Rocky was proud, and always seeing
A chance to make us glad
Never, ever to make us sad

We were honoured to have him with us
He never whined or made a fuss
He was happy with the time he spent
With us he was happy, always content

On the day his life would end
We said goodbye to a loyal friend
Now his body is beneath the ground
But sometimes we still hear the sound




Rocky meowing at the window
Perhaps he’s still there, I don’t know
His spirit lives on in our home
From our thoughts he’ll never roam

There’ll only ever be one “Roz”
The reason, is you see because
No one ever loved a cat so madly
We all want him back so badly

Goodnight Rock and God bless
No more pain, you can rest
Again you will meet with Ming
Together you will gently sing

Your voices will always be around here
We’ll hear them plaintiff, hear them clear
You were a very special friend
Up until the very end

We all loved you that will never die
And so we say a sad goodbye
We know you are in heaven above
Where you will get deserved love

Please God take care of our friend
Our love for him will never end
We know we can trust him in your keep
Where he will enjoy an endless sleep
