Today I left this mortal coil For heaven to join my wife Lay my body beneath the soil I’m finished with this life Since she left, my life’s been bare No purpose to each day Now I’m going somewhere Where together we will stay I know I’ve left you sad and forlorn I know you’ll cry for me I know you’ll feel your life is torn I know you’ll feel lonely Don’t let your sorrow mar your life Instead, feel glad for me I’m joining your Mum; I’m joining my wife How happier could I be? I know a father is supposed to be strong But he can’t be without his wife I tried but I couldn’t carry on Without her in my life All is well now we’re together We’ll watch over you each day Even through life’s stormiest weather We’ll guide you all the way Goodnight, God bless, and take good care Wherever you may roam Don’t worry about Mum and me We’re together in our new home
