God loves us not because of what we are
but because of who He is
He sent His only son Jesus
to die for the ungodly
so we could be His
God is not willing that any should perish,
but that all should be saved
He sent Jesus into the world
for all the people
with hearts' depraved
God loved us when we were unlovable
and clothed in sin and shame
He allowed Jesus
to be nailed to the cross
to take all our blame
Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
