Food for Thought

On this Thanksgiving morning while sipping my coffee

and reading many poems here at the Den,

I am reminded of simple words my father once said to me.

He said he never wanted to be a burden.

Little did I know that one day I would be taking care of him

and my mother at the end of their life.

I’m thankful that I had that chance to comfort both of them

and I’m thankful that my friends, here at the Den are here for me

reading my poems and providing me with food for thought.

I’m grateful and thankful for having you in my life.
