This is a poem written in remembrance of my Mom, besides everyday being special, this one day was the one that beat them all. Sunday

Sundays

This is one day when all the family would meet
It was like a block party.........going on in the streets
On this day was when Mama would prepare a dinner meal
If entered into a contest to win...................................... it will

She would get up in the morning........ before daybreak
and pick her collard greens....so for church she wouldn't
be late.................The aroma filled the neighborhood...........
from Mama's cooking that  was good.........Mama would
make sure she had alot.............She would use those big
cafeteria pots..........She would cook her hot water corn bread
her sweet potatoes too........All this was prepared along with
some stew.........Mama would make a phone call if you weren't
there That was her heart..........................she really cared..............

Caring and sharing is what she taught
On Sundays it became a difinite ought........Sundays  were
always a treat...........At Mama's house where we all would meet

Mother is gone now.........but I must say......Her legacy lives on
everyday.......................................................Especially on Sundays
