You are an enigma to me, yet a vision of everything I desire
You possess the inner beauty of the gentleness of childhood
Yet you wield the outward nature of the bravest of warriors
Your manner is as the gentle breeze that flows past the still meadow
Not revealing the power of the most vicious of storms deep in your soul
Your heart beats true with the essence of a man
As your smile betrays the little boy within
I love you for both the boy you are and the man you are becoming
I peer into your soul through your words and see a beauty there most desired
And, though not patiently, I wait,
Alive in the hope that this is but a dream
From which I shall soon awaken to find myself finally at peace
Embracing you as a father does his son
Planting a gentle kiss upon your neck
And therein finding the resolution of my own universe which,
Being at enmity with itself,
Has held at bay the peacefulness of a destiny not yet realized
In a hunger not satisfied,
And a thirst unquenchable.
