THE AWAKENING

Deep down in a steep well

lies a soul,

lost in a cold, bleak world,

weighed down by the continuous battle for happiness,

sometimes impossible to succeed.

As the soul drifts within the murky depths,

there shines a light from heaven sent,

blurry sight from the eyes of the soul,

glimpse of a man, he begins to fold.

Is that you, my Lord?

My eyes have forsaken me.

Then came a voice from above,

"My son, your eyes may have been forsaken,

My eyes have never lost sight of you.

Your heart may have been dampened,

My heart bleeds for you.

Your spirit may have lost its light,

I send you the Holy Spirit to light up your life.

My son, I awaken you from the depths of darkness.

Come to me, I will refresh you."

The soul then started to climb,

with Jesus reflected in his eyes.

Freedom was echoed from above,

the soul grew stronger and stronger,

chanting the same words with honour.

The soul kept climbing with all its might,

tears of joy were welling in its eyes.

As he struggled to finish the climb,

Jesus’ hand reached out for his life.

When Jesus held him in his arms,

he said,

"I have found the sheep that I lost, from the depths of darkness where he was."

When you find yourself in a well so deep,

do not give up, for Jesus is always near.

Look to His coming from the depths of your soul.

Then you can see the magic that glows.

No one can say here He is or there He is.

Jesus roams inside you,

for good and bad,

now and forever

Even, until the end of time.
