THE CROSS My cross I carry upon this earth, unbearable weight, my life begins to hurt, memories of Jesus’ suffering, I realize my cross only weighs one third. Sadness would dwell in my mind with the pain Jesus endured as He traveled the hard road for our destiny, blood of the Covenant pouring from his life, a promise for all mankind. Hatred, over-powered sorrow, against a man without sin. Blindness does not come just through the eyes, but through the heart of mankind. As Jesus said to the Roman soldier "You are free to come and go as you please, and yet you are still a prisoner because you place no faith in anything but your sword." When I feel the weight of my cross again I will always remember the pain and suffering Jesus carried on His cross. Then I know my pain is only a fraction, compared to the weight of the world. © 2009 - Daniel Gereige
