Winds of change

Calming breezes on sun soaked beaches with the sound of gentle waves breaking against white bleached sand.

Children with their sand castle playgrounds and parents with their books, a family stopping to enjoy their time together, a family working at living a life.

The solemn stranger who sits by himself and smiles at the imagery being played out before his eyes.

What a wonderful day, oh yes, what a wonderful sight.

Beneath his hat and behind his shaded eyes, there is a silent acknowledgement, an envy of sorts.

If there ever was a picture to which no artist could paint, one that captured these moments, I doubt it exists.

Of course this was a day in their lives, one which showed what could be, but as we know this about life, it’s destined to change.

As the very wind itself, it’s just never blows the same. So gentle and embracing to forceful and unpleasant, the winds of change are always present.

So, do we build walls that stand tall to hold back these foul winds or stand together with arms locked sharing our strength?

Awaiting the day those gentle winds return once again and we stand and embrace the warming sweetness of loving breezes.

The real strength is in sharing and reaching out to each other, not standing alone and pretending you’re stronger.

Let the winds of change do what they will, it’s together we stand the best chance to survive.

Bear
