Harbingers of Death

Effortless, fluid motion, sailing on the currents of air,
  two hawks appear.
From yellow fierce eyes scorching disdain burns into my mind.
Feathered instrument of death, snatch your victim
  from the earth.
Soar beyond the reach of man, let him feel
 your mocking scorn.
Pitiless in your heavenly reign,
Subject to the whim of man,
unaware of your vunerable state, you fly
by mercy and grace,

Of all your poems, Patsy, I like this one the best. All are very well written from an educated and thinking mind. Thanks for sharing.

What powerful, beautiful killers they are, alone against the dark blue sky, feathering their way to their victims!
