The Title comes from an old AI (The i does not stand for INTELLIGENCE!) poster in a friend's barn. The poster had to do with when to call the AI tech ...

May: the showers of April
and the lengthening of days
drive the madness in the pasture.
Every stone pile has its covey,
and every bush its fertile nest.,
while in the warm evening
every corner of the dug-out
 is loud with frog song

In the pasture, while Old Bossy,
stands to ridden,  by her ripening sisters,
but her mad bawling  can only be
silenced only by the bull’s mounting:
under the budding poplars
in the green spring pasture below
the dugout where the frogs sing
in the evening’s fecund dusk

May and  it’s madness makes
Nan to stand to be ridden
as it were: although Nan
and Jack didn’t spend
a lot of time standing
beneath the willow
down by millstream
just after sunset
