Blue-Green Waters

Blue-green waters call to me,
although I'm far from the sea.

Primal thoughts urge me on,
like the sun chases the dawn.

Like the moon creates the tides,
my love of the sea waits… abides.

Hides… until that wondrous day I see,
and remember… so clearly.

The place of my lowly birth,
on this heavenly, wondrous Earth.

That I call my home,
and am so free to roam.

It makes me warm,
when the blue-green waters form.

In my mind's eye,
A reflection of the sky.

For it is from,
This tepid, fertile bath.

That I emerged,
to tread my path.

Salt water still running,
in my veins.

Then on those cold dark nights, all alone,
I dream again of my blue-green home.

Lovely poem and "ode" to those very tropical waters that are also in my blood. Enough so that I composed a whole CD about it. I too prefer that "Bahaman/Caribbean" Aquamarine cyan/teal or whatever it is...Hope you got a lot of pics from your trip down.

This is great, Ronald. The rhyme, the flow, but most of all, the
topic. Your poem reminds me how awful it would be to live away from the blue-green waters. When you have time, check out my "vision in green" - Gene.

It has been many years since my wife and I were last there. Bimini and Freeport were frequent haunts. I always loved the tranquility of the beautiful waters. This is another very beautiful poem, as I have come to expect of your considerable poetic abilities. Thanks for the great photo too. Jon Michael willey

You and I Ron....we are part of the oceans, rivers, lakes and streams. I'm happiest next to water.
Blessings and love,
Susan
