We are our worst enemy when we hide behind the shadows of our nature, when we shield those we love from all that we pretend to love in secret solitude.
At times when we believe those things wanted are greater than those things we need, the stage is set for an act dressed in tinsel frown, and sorrow becomes the norm forcing one to pace in place.
The graces and Fates see beyond our true nature and dangle us above the scales of balanced indifference; the soul becomes heavier then the feather when carelessness, of thought rules our day. Just a reflection before I close my eyes, I have spent too many hours today in contemplation now I’ll let the night fall and tomorrow shall bring with it a new.
Were fairy dust imagined in all I see in your eyes may come true behind your smile. If I told you I love you will I lose you, a chance I dare not take, so I will pretend it is just a friend I need beneath my tinsel frown.
Maybe it’s self petty because I am wheelchair bound driving the whirlwind in my mind, it is what it is, can I tell you I love without dreaming about your reply Goodnight, my secret love tomorrow I will give it a try.
I can truly relate to what you have shared via your verses here, Eugene. Love and peace to you,
Regis

This is really expressive in beautiful emotion
embracing fragility somehow with strength.
Love nurtures us deeply &
we all need to share love’s gifts
from the bounties of our soul,
as you said:
“The graces and Fates see beyond our true nature and dangle us above the scales of balanced indifference; the soul becomes heavier then the feather when carelessness, of thought rules our day”
I also especially love
your intro to this
heart speaking poem
"Love knows the difference between a feather and the soul"
truly priceless!
