I ran the pace
Treated them without grace
I kneaded their hearts
With all my smarts
Instilled in them a fear
Never invited for a beer
Promotions I got
Respect really not
Fiery and disrespectful with all
Knowing I would never fall
Demanding, unrelenting and condescending
Pleasing egos, bosses and boasting
Then suddenly I was in carts
A few brain drops made their darts
I now the person with the disfigured and forgotten face
The dead stroked hand holding a budle of lace
I no longer ran the pace
Body open and without grace
Found the many with hearts
The only ones that really had the smarts

This one so reminds me of one person I know from work whom everyone hates. Promotions are good to have, but one should never forget who had helped you to get there. If not, when you fall, it's going to be a long fall and no one will be there to catch you when you fall.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
