The Corporate Machine

This is a view from the dark side of the machine. Of course, there are many positives as well, which I shall attempt at a later date.

Poem Artwork

In the corporate vectors
of society, people have lost
their ability to feel compassion.
The fabric of moral society
is tearing apart at the seams;
and money, green and ugly
becomes the only dream.

Lost in a world of who has
the most, or who can boast
the most achievement in their
ascent to the top of the heap.
Ne’er a thought for what
they reap through their karmic
connection to the universe.

Risking the immortal soul, not
caring if half or whole; sinking
further into the administrative
world of chaos and vanity,
many in humanity choose the
shadow as their means of achieving
success, they must be like the rest
or be shunned, plotting alone
to grasp that dollar, no matter
what the cost to the
deceived who walk beside them.

Is this what we wish for the future?
Is this the concavity that we wish
for those who come after, our children?
The drone who plods his path,
doing whatever is asked, be it moral
or not, it will be done if it means
another rung gained in the climb
for the material rhind of the
corporate dream.
This is not to achieve, but to
be cast in a dye that leads
to spiritual death.

You think, "What a mess," I've
made of life, too much strife
to care ~ as long as I get there.
Once the dream of corporate
green has been achieved, the
power weaved in deception to
maintain this place of vanity,
to exploit the mask of mortal
insanity and loss in the face
of perfidious elegance of
reward, all else becomes
meaningless; and darkness
now felt, permeates the
air of delusion.

So much confusion here,
too high on ego to fear, or even
give thought to the repercussions
of karma, for what we give is
what will be received.
The web weaves its way through
the fabric, eating away the
magic that the dreamers try
to mend, the beauty is real.

Learn how to feel, join the warriors
that contend for the cup of
salvation ~ to grand elation
of spirit, come closer...
Don't fear it, just listen,
you'll hear the voice of universal
hope, and the road to knowing
opens before you like the petals
of a rosebud coming into full bloom.

Corporate greed merely feeds my angst...one example after another of the green they covet above humanity. Beautifully written, Deborah.

The Almighty Dollar has become the new God for many today I am sad to say. Too much greed and not enough compassion and good will. Fantastic write.....

So very true, and big government is a prime candidate of this, my own Canadian gov't that I spent working for 30 years when my health failed and they forced me to take early retirement when over payments and taxation threatened to bamnkrupt me the girl who called said sell your home.
Cold voice of automation.
