Steal Away

 Steal Away

© February 25, 2014 (11:03 - 11:20) - Sherry Bach

No eyes will ever take his place

No smile, nor peaceful face

The depths of where he reaches

The amazement never ceases

He's not here but yet he is

He's not mine, but I am his

Forever assigned to the one

Whose hold on me is second to none

Refusing the offer to let go

Hope eternal doesn't know

It's torture but it's oh so sweet

A trolley on a two-way street

Goes left, goes right, and back again

Returning to where it's always been

And alas my heart does wander by

The road of wonder, the road of why

To which I cannot give a reason

Or predict the wind in any season

But with certainty I can surely say

Nobody else can steal me away

Whether this is an unrequited love, or a continuing love for someone
who has passed on or has moved on, it is painful, sorrowful, and moving. And so very well said.

It stole my heart already and is a big hit. The sense of longing unfulfilled is bothersome, but carries well in a song because it touches on so many with the same feelings.

A very sweet romantic poetic song. Dedication is a good character trait. However, if the other party does not feel the same, it may be time to move on... Amen
