Bad investments yield negative returns

 Bad Investment

© 8.14.14 Sherry Bach

I looked right through you

Then turned my head

It came as an after thought

As to who you were

I have moved to a place

Where pity is given

In my mind, in your name

To be along

The mental pathways

That you entertain

Would mean that a mind

Had to freeze out

The warmth of love

And that is pitiful

I feel sorry for you

But I also realize

That the time I spent

Drinking your poison in disguise

Was a poor investment

Yielding negative returns

Confusion and the like

Bad investments break people

But I am not broken

You are

A half of something

Nobody knows what

You don't even know

That's what you will be

Until you don't want

To be that anymore

I'm not into bad investments

Pretty as it is

I'll never buy that stock again!

Lessons in love like finance help us become better people. Nice allegory… I hope it pays off.

Knowing when to sell can be as important as knowing when to buy.
A lesson well stated, Sherry.
