Life's Paths © 2015 Sherry Bach

Winding, twisting, up, and sometimes down
Straight or crooked, in the woods or in town
We never know the path ahead until it takes us there
We all have traveled a road or two that doesn't seem quite fair
We never go back to where we've been the same that we were before
Choices, decisions, actions, words, all open a different door
If we fly on the faith of goodness, if we trust in the one who loves
There is assurance that the path we walk will always rise above
Eventually with constant motion, forward in its striving
A place is reached, a summit topped, as if God himself was driving
Don't worry about the bumps and breakdowns, just know that they will happen
Listen quietly for the calming voice of your ever loving Captain
Try to help a weary soul on your journey upward
Make it your goal to be helpful and never travel backward
When the ride is over and you're looking right at death
Light will end the darkness, and calm will be your last breath.
