He looked and he stared but he couldn't find

Any of the things she said was there

The colors of the ocean, a moment in time

All eluded him, it wasn't fair

Unaware of the mistake that he made

Until it was way too late

Realizing now that he'd been played

She had him, he'd taken the bait

He should have seen and known better

In hindsight it's all very clear

But now he's become her lover and debtor

Unable to escape from the power of fear

To look for the ocean in someone's eyes

Was his biggest mistake and his ultimate demise
