Lest you dash your foot against a stone

They might take you up in their hand

Given charge over you from God's throne

They will steer you away from foreign land

Some have wings, some have feet

And some might even fly

Dispersing a fragrance oh so sweet

It is not in their character to lie

Excelling in strength, harkening to the voice

Protecting with all their might

They chose to follow when given the choice

The way, the truth and the light

Their presence cannot always be counted

But one can appear in a dream

They can seek out one woman by a fountain

Or hold back the raging sea

They speak the truth, it never changes

And the truth will set men free

Never asking for detail of how He arranges

Which fruit to grow on which tree

The task at hand is mighty still

Than any of yours or mine

Given the gift to have free will

They confess He is the true Vine
