Too Good To Be True
Of all the beautiful flowers, my eyes land on that bloom
Its colors are so brilliant; silky pedals soft to the touch
The sight of it captivates me and I cannot look away
To dress a stem so lovely, with the perfect costume
T'would be a charming incident, bringing it in close to me
The fulfillment of passion to possess what my eyes behold
Was it made to be admired from a distance only?
Can I just leave it alone and let it be what it is supposed to be?
Watch out for the prickly thorns, they'll bleed you
It's not so much that it hurts but the ache lasts for days
The site where the entry was made by a foreign object
Proving that the perfection from a distance, up close is too good to be true
This is a keeper of yours.
