Gentle Rain © 5.23.15 Sherry Bach

Gentle rain falling down, quietly without wind

Almost in slow motion, it is so peaceful to watch

The fragrance of it heightens awareness of renewal

I breathe it in easy, slowly, wanting it to last

Enjoying the moment, I linger there

Allowing my eyes the time necessary

To gather information to record the memory

Then all of a sudden it creeps in

I begin to miss you

Quick! Run! Run away from it!

So I do

I play back all of the things you said

Nobody will ever get close to you, it's true

The wind starts, the trees sway

The clouds compete with one another for space

One over, one under, moving quickly now

One darker, one bright white

The lightning flashes and illuminates the truth

Nobody will ever get close to you

Thank you all. Oh boy! I am tempted to go into a dissertation here about romantic love but I will spare all of you! LOL. I do sometimes resent the fact that we are creatures who have an innate desire to want to love and be loved and that includes romantic love. I have never been successful with it but life at this point for me is more about my kids and grandchildren so it's all good. If you were inclined, you can read my dissertation about love here...http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IF9QE5I

Association can be so strong at times, and can bring back strong emotional memories in an instant...
We can choose to dwell on them with pain, or release them to the elements and look straight ahead with Hope in our hearts...
Hugs,
Diana....

It's really unfortunate that watching gentle rain brings back such thunderous thoughts. Let's hope that lightning strikes in your future and love e raises all memory of those heavy times forever.

Wide awake nightmare is what this conjures up in my thoughts. Run, run indeed.
