The Taste of Failure is Bitter-Sweet
searing my tongue
hightlighting all my inadequacies
forcing me
toward false rationalizations
accompanying that Cringing Sensation
especially when it is the same
mistake
the same mistake
over and over again
which seems to never
leave my repertoire
of mistakes
as
time and again
I make the same
choices of low hangin fruit
in men;
too similar
to be all their fault
after all
I was the one attracted
the one who chose
the one who not only
recognized this
but also recognized
that apparently
some men
are my
Favorite Kind Of Mistake To Make
Often Made.
I confess
I like it
and I recognize
I do it again and again.
It's true ;
we all have our favorite
kinds of mistakes to make
how else can you explain
chocolate and cake?
He:
You too are
my sweet mistake
but it is because you're mine
the one
I've decided
cannot be seperated
from who I am
who's entered
my Soul Space
adorned with
Dust Roses
and Melancoly
a comfortable mix
and yes
sometimes
colors faded
from
too much neglect
but above all
you've grown
from the
Familiar
into
Corporeal Incorporation.
I could not sleep
if you weren't there.
You like your bitter-sweet chocolate
and mine is you.
This one is wonderful and insightful. It is very difficult for a male to write from the female perspective, but I believe you've done it quite well. I especially like the metaphor, "low hanging fruit."
It's interesting, but I have a short story with two perspectives, "he" and "she," on a whole different subject in the works.
And as two old maxim goes: what we resist persists; we create all our own reality, including our mistakes, and never move one until we learn the inherent lesson in errors.
