You Touched My Soul

I don’t know why things make me cry

That’s when I want to curl up and die

It feels like the walls are caving in on me

It’s dark inside. I can not see

All I feel is dampness and cold

There is no one to grab and hold

I try not to show you that I hurt

But, sometimes I can not hide all the dirt

The pain is so sharp, it feels like a knife

Hitting the bone and taking my life

Why is it that I got out of the way?

Why didn’t I hold my ground and stay?

Was it my destiny to be like this?

A sinking, filling, drowning pit?

A life unknown from us all

No reason to be here, no one to call

Then you entered my life and made me feel whole

You spoke to my heart and you touched my soul.
