#Dying Rural Villages.

 Parched fields,

rusted farm fences,

forlorn stone

and mud-thatched houses.

Rotting scarecrows

everywhere,

except the dancing squirrels

nothing moves.

Danuwar communities

that once pulsed life

atop these plains

have been swallowed

by the cavernous city mouths

and the half-baked Arab dreams.

Where shops and stores

once stood,

only the forgotten

dreams and the ghosts

of long dead

ancestors remain.

And somewhere

in the undulating tide

of grass and grit

rests one man’s integrity,

his chance to reckon

with an unsettled history.

Shattered dream for some looking for a moment to relax thinking of the good old days of times gone by, but in modern times are unable to survive, I at times find myself searching my past of which I need not ever return, for some the good old days were sometimes nightmares..... this poem is utterly amazing great write Bhutan always enjoy reading your remarkable work.......peace be with you

Your poem transcends history by covering what happens when outsiders come to conquer. Today it's climate change that I understand, India is taking on boldly with innovative ideas.

Progress means different things to different. For those settled in one place for many years it mans itt can mean disaster.

A meaningful and moving account through your verses, Bhuwan. I can relate as I was forced to move away from a beloved place because of so- called "development." Love and peace,

Regis
