An original poem.

buried by time and forgetfulness, sand

everywhere is the floor. the low walls rise

to support no temples. no dreams. the land

has won. within the circular court lies

the sun and diamonds. this is where i

first learned the secret. suns do not compare

to this. memories of the holy sky

have faded to fear. there is only glare

to remind us. the stone walls have also

forgotten. this is the only glory.

the sand and time conspire to be master,

and outlive all. this is not a story

with a moral. all i want is laughter

to pervade time, an eternal echo.
