W.M.C. Day
In our February meeting while planning our Women’s Missionary Convention Day, I was asked to make up a report, so here it is in rhyme; I hope you folks don’t mind.
They wanted me to make it interesting so the men would lend an ear. Some women feel you men aren’t attentive to what
we’ve done this past year.
Our attendance is around fifteen. We try to spread our goods upon the scene. Sunshine baskets, food, baby shower
or whatever the need,
we feel this way we may be sowing a little seed.
Visiting the shut ins we often go. Taking cookies, birthday cake while walking as you know.
What a blessing we receive as we offer prayer and read!
For missionaries to minister God’s Word to scholars; in 1970 we gave thirty dollars. Hazel Stigero, Shirley Newton and Sister Dalton were their names. May God bless them in their work again and again! A dime offering we take each meeting. This is to help new churches that are growing and seeking. Almost twenty six dollars our dimes came to. Over thirty two thousand, all the dimes in the district grew! Our W.M.C. Convention when is held, we give to them, whatever need they tell. Tupperware, sheets, towels and gifts came too. Thirty six dollars the women sacrificed to do. Two hundred and twenty three pieces of used clothing we gave. No one knows how many souls were saved. One hundred thirty three visits were made in all, to hospitals, homes and wherever the call.
You see, God works in mysterious ways. Would you think a few women would get the craze? Saving Betty Crocker coupons we do. We hope you’ll start saving too! These are used to purchase gifts for missionaries far and near. One thousand three hundred coupons just our W.M.C. ladies gave last year! To Highland Children’s Home went a box. A value of over twenty-five dollars
some spent for socks!
Pioneer work; the women gave a fine display, of all the needs that were asked for on Christmas Day. Songs were sung and words of praise, during three nursing home services our voices raised. Blessing and praising our Lord and Saviour, for His mercy and grace He gives in full measure.
Our missionary secretary sent Christmas cards north, south, east and west. Sixteen center pieces were given to those that were in the home or there for a visit. God bless each W.M.C. woman we pray, that’s doing God’s work in such a wonderful way!
Our W.M.C. Missionary giving this past year came to over five hundred and fifty dollars, given without a tear. Our tasks are sent from heaven above and we do it with a heart of love.
