In all my years,
All I ever said was goodbye,
To faces that were too young to go.
With eyes that held,
No fear in them at all,
Even when they start to close,
And their breath goes shallow.
They’ve lost their will to fight.
And leave me to curse the night.
Of all the people in my life,
All I can seem to ever ask is why?
He chose you to be the one,
To die...
All my tears can’t wash away,
The years that were stolen from you and me...
Why can’t he see!
How young you are?
And how afraid I am of losing you!
But I guess I have to face the truth.
Inside we always knew,
I could never have you,
For forever like I wanted to.
I must surrender and let you go.
